General Rules
  1. Punch cards will be used to mark riders' scores. A riding Number may have to be displayed on the front of your bicycle.
  2. Riders will start at the section shown on their punch card and ride the sections in ascending consecututive order.
  3. Riding a section out of order will incur a penalty of ten marks lost for each section you have skipped.
  4. All sections to be taped, with particular attention being paid to the begins and ends gates. This will assist riders by clearly defining the route and help to keep spectators out of the way of riders.
  5. For unresolved ties the winner will be the rider who completes the course in the quickest time. For a Championship tie the decision goes to the rider with most wins, seconds etc. then the best placing in the final round if still unresolved.
  6. All events in this series are held under these supplementary rules, plus conditions on any entry forms and under the BikeTrial International Union rules relating to penalization.
  7. Riders must wear a helmet, long trousers and a shirt. It is recommended (but not compulsory) to also wear boots or shoes giving ankle protection, gloves and a shirt with long sleeves.
  8. TIME - There will be a time limit for each event set by the organiser of that event.
    Section Time
The time limit to pass a section is 2 minutes.
Track Time
The times below will be used as a guide:
    1. 10 minutes per section
    2. 15 minutes per km on the track
    3. 60 minutes for delay penalisation

Example:  In an event of 8 sections, and a track of 1km, two laps will be as follows:

    1. 8 sections x 2 laps = 16 x 10 minutes = 160
    2. 1km + 1km = 2 x 15 minutes = 30
    3. 160 minutes + 30 minutes = 190 minutes in total + 60 minutes with delay penalisation.

Delay penalisation

    • Section:  Over passing the time limit is 5 penalty points.
    • Track:  The finish delay penalisation will apply as soon as the rider exceeds his/her finishing time, and 1 penalty point will apply for every 5 minutes of delay.  In the case of delay exceeding 30 minutes, the rider will be disqualified.
  9. BIBS - The first 25 numbers (1-25) will be reserved for the Elite riders.  The numbers should be distributed in numerical order, i.e.: if a rider that has participated in the previous year's Championship is absent the following year, the number which corresponds to his/her position will be left vacant.
  10. AWARDS - In every Championship, the organiser must provide, as the minimum, a trophy or gift for the first three riders in each category. At the end of the series overall championship awards will be given
